Mason,

The point I was trying to make is that the u.s. is acting without any apparent "concessions" on the part of japan to DO SOMETHING THAT WILL DEAL CONSTRUCTIVELY WITH THE PROBLEM. japan keeps saying that they are considering this and that BUT it's been my experience that there is an awful BIG GAP betwen what they say and what they eventually do. As far as I can tell, we are wasting valuable reserves by keeping the yen propped up here. now is the time IMHO to keep the pressure on japan and if anything, to intensify the pressure. that is the ONLY way to get japan to act.
