VisionQuest 2000's Marketing Tracking Services Will Be Included
In ZD Market Intelligence's StoreBoard
Ziff-Davis (NYSE:ZD) and VisionQuest 2000 Inc. today announced an agreement that allows inclusion of VisionQuest's monthly shelf-presence data in the StoreBoard monthly channel sales reports. The agreement also permits VisionQuest 2000 to include StoreBoard data in its reports to clients. StoreBoard is a decade-old channel tracking service issued by ZD Market Intelligence (formerly Computer Intelligence).
The combination of information enabled by this agreement will provide sales, marketing, and technology executives with a more accurately assessed market outlook on which to base business projections and decisions.
"VisionQuest 2000 does meticulous work defining what is going on inside technology stores. It was clear to us that their work is a perfect complement to StoreBoard's sell-through data. Our agreement with VisionQuest 2000 allows us to offer our customers an even more robust set of marketing tools than we offered before," said George B. Meier, managing director of StoreBoard.
Commented Ernie Raper, VisionQuest 2000's president and founder, "Our company's main focus is analyzing and sizing markets. We wanted to incorporate sell-through data in our research, and ZD Market Intelligence is known for its expertise and accuracy in this area. By integrating our analysts' research with StoreBoard data, both VisionQuest 2000 and StoreBoard customers will receive a more complete package."
ZD Market Intelligence and VisionQuest 2000 will provide each other with monthly updates of their respective data. ZD Market Intelligence will receive VisionQuest 2000's complete supplier shelf-presence data by retail channel, as obtained from store audits. Data will include total SKU (stock-keeping unit) count by supplier, end-caps, rebates, and promotional displays, provided by supplier and by retail channel. ZD Market Intelligence will, in turn, provide VisionQuest 2000 with its sales data and analysis.
"As a result of StoreBoard's partnership with VisionQuest 2000, StoreBoard's Marketplace Supplement can now offer an advertising survey, an improved PC inventory report, a price band report and an in-store promotion survey, all in addition to StoreBoard's existing comprehensive sell-through data. These are the kinds of tools professional marketing people need to succeed in this fast-moving industry," StoreBoard's Meier summarized.
StoreBoard provides monthly sales data and analysis on PCs, printers and peripheral products sold within selected U.S. distribution channels: PC Superstores, Office Superstores, Consumer Electronics Stores, Mail Order Resellers, Corporate Account Dealers and Local Assemblers.
With StoreBoard, technology sales and marketing executives can:
-- obtain an objective view of overall channel performance
-- track competitive sales through multiple channels of distribution
-- explore growth potential in new markets
-- determine the marketing effectiveness of product launches and advertising campaigns
-- track Point-of-Sale marketing effectiveness
