I agree, mid to late 99 is a strong possibility. The Infrastructure folks have pointed out that every strong semi equipt run has been fueled by a change to the next larger wafer size. Until 300 mm is ready, whatever the economy, the semi equipt makers might be able to avoid losing money with upgrades to smaller line widths and selling spare parts, but there won't be a bull market, if you agree with this rationale. So, it'll be a trader's market, IMO, for the next year or so, give or take a few months. Buy and hold folks will need a two year horizon to make it worth investing in these companies at the present time, I think.
