surely you've read the many accounts of children being battered by stupid adults, sometimes to the point of death. I am saying that it's worth any adult being asked to explain themselves in regard to their treatment of children rather than letting a child's life slip thru the cracks because of "freedom" concerns.
There's probably no other area of law where I have such strong feelings. I definitely believe the best kind of government is the least government.
However, children have absolutely no method in which to defend themselves. If you or I are mugged, robbed, property vandalized we have all sorts of resources to obtain justice. A child does not have the maturity to even know that her/his human rights are being violated when the adults in their lives act irresponsibly. No, I don't believe in hauling parents into court because they discipline their children, and I agree more parents today SHOULD be prosecuted by the law because they DON'T discipline their progeny. HOWEVER, if just one child is physically harmed and no one attempts to save them, it is the worst injustice on earth. We're not talking pats on the rearend here--more like punches in the face or lungs.
SAVE THE CHILDREN----Eliminate child pornography as well.
