OT*** some Windows tips:

... in my advanced stage of life, can't figure out how to transfer a post from Loral to the Q.

Two easy ways. Both are very quick and easy, but take a little while to explain in complete detail.

One, copy the text from one to the other. Here's how: "Paint" the text of the message you wish to copy from the Loral message by clicking the left mouse button at the beginning of the text, and then while holding that button down, moving the mouse to the end of what you want to copy. The painted area will be dark. Then click the right mouse buttom, and choose copy from the menu that pops up. (The text stays automatically copied onto an invisible Windows "notepad" until you do the same thing again to copy something else over it. Or until you turn off your computer.) Now go to the Q message thread, reply to someone as you would with a brand new message, and click the right mouse button again into the blank reply window, or after an introductory remark. Chose paste from the menu that pops up, and PRESTO, you've copied the painted text out of that invisible notepad over to where you want it.

Second way to do it. Paste the link. This seems advanced. Its actually simple as all get out. Go back to the message in the Loral thread you want to copy. Now, instead of painting some text, go to the little one line "Location" window on your browser. With Netscape its at the top of the window. With MS Navigator I believe its at the bottom. Anyway, just paint the gobbeldygook that's in that window. (It's called the URL, and it always starts with http://) and use the right mouse button to choose the copy option again. Now go over to the Q thread and as before open up a reply window. Right mouse click in the reply window and choose "paste" from the menu that pops up, after you've put the mouse cursor where you want the link to appear. It will look like a line of dead gobeldygook until you fully send it onto SI. Once you do, it will magically appear as a live blue link that if clicked upon, magically sends anyone's browser back to that post on the Q thread. Or to any other page anywhere on the Web. Here's an example:

exchange2000.com

Try both the above. You'll love it. And both techniques work between different programs in Windows. For example, you can paste text from a message you want to save into a MS Office Word window, and then save the file someplace on your hard disk. Or you can more quickly paste it onto the little Wordpad application that's on your start button, and then "save as" some file name you make up, in some directory on your hard disk.

Good luck.

Doug
