<So we lose C.K. (and you all wondered who the big seller was)>
Wrong on both counts! Still a TAVA believer!! Holding most thru thick & thin. Did lose some on a margin call last month ... SIGH
Have done a little bit of trading between 9-1/2 & 10 1/4. Not much cause I haven't had time to watch the market. Got some KEA and CDO when they pulled back. But TAVA still is, and will continue to be my largest holding by far.
ALL LONGS: Sorry I haven't been around lately. Just haven't had the time to keep up with TAVA thread and post. Have been "on the road" and researching & working on PowerPoint presentation when in town. Spent 10 days in Mexico with family. Just got back last night.
Leaving for D.C. Saturday, where I'll be speaking on embedded systems at a Legal Liability & Risk Avoidance Conference at the Watergate Hotel. Target audience directors, officers, corporate counsel, etc.
Just got off the phone with Dennis Grabow (Millennium Investment Corp) who will be testifying in front of Senator Horn's committee on Monday. I plan on catching the afternoon hearings.
Dennis is on the cover of Pension & Investment Magazine which comes out this week.
Grabow has characterized the consequences of the Year 2000 issue as "The Greatest Wealth Transfer Event of the Twentieth Century" - A watershed event that will define economic fortunes for individuals, corporations, institutions, and nations. He anticipates a significant redistribution of wealth throughout the world.
Grabow has also forecasted the beginning of a bear market for equities with the U.S. equity market declining by 25% to 30% by the end of 1998. The decline will be due to three factors; the growing global impact of Year 2000 on information processing and manufacturing systems, continued problems with Asian economies, and overall weakening of U.S. corporate profits. The most significant of these factors is the Year 2000 issue.
I've seen Dennis speak several times. Powerful speaker. His presentation primarly focuses on embedded systems in manufacturing, process control, infrastructure and economic implications.
I want to thank everyone for their messages and emails. Unfortunately there is no way I can possibly answer each one individually. As much as I enjoyed (and needed) the Mexico interlude ... it's put me even further behind, and I have a LOT of catching up to do before I hit the road again.
It's real frustrating to come back and see 700+ TAVA posts to catch up on. No way I can read them all.
Ignore Mr. Pink! It's a shame we have to put up with people like him.
Hopefully after I get back from Washington, I'll have some free time and can start posting again.
