Paul E. What's Intel doing with the CPU connectors? Socket7, Slot1, Slot2 and now socket 470? (I think this is the designator for the new PGA for Mendocino as reported by ZD and supposedly confirmed by Intel).

Does this mean Celeron comes in two flavors, Slot1 and PGA? Or will Intel create a new family name for Mendocino? (Which I think would be a good idea).
If the story is true, why did Intel abandon Slot1 for Celeron on the new device, (or whatever Mendocino will be called)? BTW, can you confirm this new PGA?
Seems like the makers might have a problem if Mendocino doesn't plug in the existing MOBO's.
And if Intel is going to a PGA on Mendocino doesn't this validate super socket 7?
Looking forward to your response.
