Once you already have an MS compatible directory of stocks (not Virtual, but MS compatible), you update it by going to Update Existing Directories in the QP to Metastock program, not to Output a List of Symbols. I may have misunderstood your note, but I hope this helps. You can automatically update it each night by going to Define Automatically Updated Directories.
