>>did you see the short position

I'm travelling, so I'm not watching details very closely. I was at Morgan Stanley and Montgomery this morning, plus meeting Sal Habash (finally) at his money-management internship here in San Francisco, so I've been talking stocks all day.

Today was a triumph for the longs. The US signals that we're not going to let Japan go down the tubes, and suddenly the market steps back from the abyss and high-tails north.

I can't believe my luck...you probably won't believe it either, but here goes. Early yesterday morning I was 100% cash and as I posted, it looked like a breakout in Yahoo. I was late leaving for SF and didn't have time to rebuild a long list, so I told my brokers to just put 66% of my cash in Yahoo at 117 and change, and 34% in America Online at 86 and change. You wouldn't believe the numbers of shares involved. I'm comatose.
