"Sir," said Muffy to a comely lad who stood at the head of the cot on which still lay, in spite of the commotion surrounding them, the deranged tart. "Sir, you look authoritative to me, and in such a circumstance, being a person of little medical knowledge (though also one who is willing to learn) I like to rely on the sound advice of an educated authority. Would you instruct me in the best way to proceed, given the circumstances? By the way, Sir, I do not know your name. Mine is Muffy."

"My name is Jeffrey S. Mitchell, at your service," the fellow replied. "Just you follow my instructions carefully and all will be well!"

A hush fell in the ambulance. All eyes were fixed on Jeffrey S. Mitchell. "Put up or shut up, Dude" were the puzzling words Muffy now heard whispered, huskily, from an unseen person standing the edge of the group.
