To all our SI friends: The Gary Stern family survived a difficult surgery today. He reports wonderful news to us that his wife came through very well. He has been a great friend to us here over the months and years, and has been steadfast in assisting the committee in defending your interests, even through this serious personal family difficulty. Though they might not be aware of it, our adversaries are in a much poorer condition tonight, with Stern back in high spirits. Sometimes we need to put our problems in perspective. I'm feeling a little stronger tonight, all the way around. DD
