Portals Now, am I the only one that sees the opportunity for GMGC to sign a deal with a portal company (i.e. YHOO)? Here's how I see it: Benefits to GMGC: * Provide a speech enabled interface to a user customized default web page - just like your current portals * Money from the portal company to be the default page. And/Or free advertising on their website. (Free advertising is important. Making Portico a strong brand has got to be their #1 goal for the first year at least, along with strong revenue growth. Earnings are for the future.) Benefits for Portal co: * Their name is spoken everytime the user requests updates from their page. Like "Yahoo found 5 new stories under NFL, or Yahoo says it's the bottom of the 8th and xxx team is winning 5 to 1." This increases their brand recognition. Although it would also increase hits to their page, it's not to useful to count since the user won't see the ads. Does this make sense to anyone? ;)
