Dear Gregory;

The Trinity is a very difficult subject but one the can be understood to some degree if not fully. The Bible teaches that God is one. Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! The Bible also clearly teaches that God is a plurality of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is taught in many places such as Genesis 1:26 Then God said, ®Let *Us make *man in Our image, according to Our likeness; ...

Our current discussion of Yeshua's claims to be the great I Am can only be understood as true if God is also a plurality of some sort. This is essential to a firm grasp of Biblical reality.

The question now must be how can God be understood as one and also as three distinct persons. I will try to draw an analogy which works for me, but like all such comparisons it is incomplete.

Let us consider the concept of time. Time is made up of three distinct units. Past, Present, and Future. All three make up the one concept time. All three are essential to even have or experience time. The past is fully time, and virtually all moments in time existed in the past. Likewise Present and Future. All moments in time have or will exist in the Present or were at one time yet Future. Time cannot be understood and divided. All three must exist together to make up the one idea, Time. All three are fully time yet all three are separate ideas which depend upon each other.

In summary I believe that God is one. That he exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy spirit. He cannot be divided. All three are fully God. All three are Distinct. All three make up the one true God. I hope this helps. What do you think?

In Yeshua's love for you - DLL
