Spoke with CFO of the company today. Regarding the A/R numbers, he said CMED granted a client a temporary extension on their payments, which have been brought up to date and the next quarterly report would reflect this. Understandably, he would not comment on Vencor's troubles except to say that it wasn't effecting the day to day biz. He is not aware of any plans from VC to divest itself of CMED holdings. He said that, while they enjoy a good working relationship and VC is a good *potential* customer, VC isn't a major source of revenue at this time. (So VC problems need not be a major drag for CMED.) I asked about insider ownership, and he said that including Vencor's holdings, corporate officers and board members, insiders owned about 49% of the company. Someone correct me, doesn't VC own about 40% right now? So about 9% is held by oficers and board members.
Otherwise, they just passed the 90 day review period for FDA approval of Fresh Air, the oxygen regeneration system. They do not yet have approval, but hopefully it won't be long. And they are pursuing Y2K applications. He didn't tell me of any contracts right now, but they did just announce this about a month ago. He said they were working very aggresively on it.
