I am very surprised by this. One thing I found strange is the 66 MHz bus speed mentioned by the UK article. I know that bus speed is less relevant if L2 is on the CPU side, but still, why would Intel want to be the last company to use 66 MHz bus?

Also, the Infoworld article says that the socket will be 370 pin. How many pins are in socket 7? Does the pin count indicate 65-bit or 128 bit path?
