Chapter #5
Muffy discreetly walks away from the group and heads home. She finds Jeff (the cop) waiting for her.
"Where have you been?" asks Jeff. "Oh, Iowa and McDonalds." replied Muffy.
"We need to talk." stated Jeff matter-of-factly. "About what?" replied Muffy innocently. "About us." said Jeff. "You're married. There is no us." retorted Muffy. And she left Jeff alone in the parlor while she showered and changed. Returning to the parlor, Muffy was surprised that Jeff was still there.
"I'm hungry. Let's go eat." said Muffy. So Jeff took Muffy to Mimi's Cafe. Looking at the menu, Muffy decided on the fruit plate.
"Muffy, I need to talk to you." said Jeff. "I can't sleep at night. I'm always thinking about you. My work is suffering, too. My partner almost got mugged by some pre-schoolers because I was daydreaming about you."
"You're married." says Muffy, as the waitress brings her order.
Jeff continues, "Yes. I am married. But it's not working out. I've been married for 8 years now, and I'm still a virgin. Just before we wed, my wife joined a cult of Hairy Davidians. The cult leader forbids sex to all female members, unless it's with him. Those kids in our house are not mine. I have a strong need for a lady."
Muffy pretends not to listen. Instead she picks up a banana and peels it halfway down. She takes the banana and gently nibbles at it while Jeff watches intensely, mildly aroused. The momentary silence is awkward, and Muffy says to Jeff, "Continue."
Startled back to reality, Jeff resumes his story. "And I think you like me as much as I like you....". Jeff again goes silent as his attention is drawn to the banana. Muffy nibbles again and licks her lips. Jeff shifts his position in his chair so that Muffy might not guess his thoughts. Suddenly she takes a huge bite. Recoiling, Jeff is startled back from his dreamworld. Muffy finishes her banana.
Jeff continues, "I've been thinking of leaving my wife for some time now, but I have no one else, no other family, no place to go. And you're all alone in that big apartment. And...". Jeff grows silent again as Muffy picks up a succulent strawberry and places the tapered end to her lips. Deftly using her lips and fingers, Muffy twists off the stem end of the strawberry. Jeff's jaw drops slightly. Delicately, Muffy starts sucking on the strawberry, the sweet juice running from the corners of her mouth. Jeff's mouth opens wider. Quickly Muffy pops the entire berry into her mouth, and swallows the now juiceless fruit. She picks up another one and starts the routine over. Jeff again shifts in his chair, looking for any position that might be comfortable. Jeff stares at Muffy's pouty lips, stained with strawberry juice. Muffy picks up yet another berry and again deftly fingers the fruit before gently placing it upon her lips. Juice slowly drips from Muffy's fingers. And her chin has but a single red drop, barely visible. Jeff moans slightly in his chair. Muffy looks at him, vaguely aware that something is amiss.
Picking up the last banana, she gently massages the skin with her hands before peeling the fruit. Placing the soft flesh to her lips, Jeff lets out a looong gutteral, moan, and rushes to the men's room. Throughout the restaurant, patrons stare at Jeff.
The waitress returns with the check. Muffy pays the waitress and waits for Jeff's return. As he leaves the rest room, Muffy takes note that Jeff is walking strangely, as though he had just come in out of the rain. As they leave the cafe, Muffy notes an old man reading Barron's. The headline reads "USAW to......." |
