DVD NeWs!!!!

Sigh, well I look about like a moron for that Fox DVD bit a couple of
days ago. Blame Glen, if he were still doing this, that wouldn't of
happened. But hey, 3 sources came in on it, and it's not the first time.
However, the below spy... Professor Anne MaryAnne... came in with the
following report about all types of goodies and good things that might
be happening within the next month or so... So here we go...

Don't expect to hear any announcement from Fox before the VSDA
convention (July 8-11) in Las Vegas. I have heard from a reliable source
that Fox will announce DVD there, and that Paramount will also announce
their first titles there.
Also a great number of people have been waiting for classic Disney
animation to be released on DVD, well a disc called Mickey Mouse: The
Black and White Years has just been announced for a May 25th release in
Japan. There's also a tentative schedule to release Spirit of Mickey in
the States in August, and Hercules in September. Possibly their greatest
recent film, The Lion King is being digitally mastered for a eventual
DVD release from an anamorphic print. This also means that Disney will
start releasing their films in anamorphicly enhanced versions (which
take full advantage of the 480 lines of vertical resolution DVD offers).
All Disney subsidiaries films have so far been Widescreen, but not
widescreen enhanced - but this looks like its about to change!

Anyone wanting to book their DVD copy of Titanic for $50 can go to
www.dvdallstar.com - strange considering that they haven't announced
this title as a release, yet alone a price. Can anyone say "cashing in"!
