Durian ice cream can be purchased right in San Francisco, at Polly Ann's ice cream store on Noriega Street. I think the cross street is about 39th Avenue.

Do you know this place, Michael? It is owned by a Chinese couple, and while they offer plenty of house-made American-style ice creams, they also make all of the Asian ones like red bean, green tea, red rose, and other exotics. Coconut is particularly wonderful.

On the three hot sunny days we have here every year, there is a line out onto the sidewalk. They also offer a free ice cream cone for your dog!
