i hardly call the article positive...in fact, i thought it was
rather negative since it pointed out the tremendous risk
involved with investing in AMD. Also, HP and AST point
blank said that Intel was their first choice and did not
want to leave them. Even Cyrx's executive said their performance
test on the K6 was meaningless thus belittling the K6 on
superior performance. Low-end OEMs are even reluctant to leave
Intel according to the article.

imho, I seriously doubt that AMD will sign up any major OEMs
before chip release in early Q2/late Q1, since they will have to
prove that they can mass produce the chip with high quality. The
earliest i see AMD signing a major OEM is 2H97, but by then,
Intel will be ahead of the game once again in terms of performance,
OEM loyalty, etc.

VERY HIGH RISK since everything has to go right before 2Q97 for
AMD to even have a chance. i think you have better odds in vegas.
