DIAMONDWORKS RECOVERS 232-CARAT DIAMOND FROM ITS LUO MINE IN ANGOLA
VANCOUVER, CANADA - Bruce Walsham, Chairman, President and CEO of DiamondWorks Ltd., announced that the company recovered a 232.6-carat diamond from its Luo mine in Angola on June 16th. The diamond is the largest recovered to date by DiamondWorks since it began commercial production at Luo in July 1997, and is almost five times larger than a 50.2-carat stone recovered in January. Based on available historical operating data, it is the largest stone ever recovered from the Luo concession. The 232.6-carat diamond will be valued in mid-July as part of DiamondWorks' next sales parcel of diamonds from the Luo mine. DiamondWorks is a global diamond mining company. The company is in commercial diamond production at the Luo mine in northwest Angola, and will begin production later this month at its Yetwene mine, also in Angola. DiamondWorks has interests in a number of other mineral properties in Sierra Leone, Lesotho, Canada, China and Venezuela.
