Hi Vaughn

Speaking of loonies, rands and cents, the general trend is of course (like many other currencies) that the loonie and the rand have fallen against the US$ this year. The rand has done so more precipitously than the loonie, although it hasn't fared as badly as other currencies (the rand lost 4%+ on a trade-weighted basis against the US$, pound, Deutschmark and yen since mid-April). However, as you probably know both rand and loonie (which hit an all-time low against the US$ this week) have shown a little buoyancy after the recent US yen support. Anyway, I don't want to go off on too much of a forex/economics tangent!

To switch topics, as far as media reaction to what happened at M1 goes, I'd be glad to post anything of value I come across for this thread.

Regards,
Nempela
