I have set up the Virtual Metastock files with a list of about 100 stocks to see how much disk space I would save compared to the same list of stocks in an automatically updated metastock file. In the virtual file each stock has a 64k size

The 64k that you see is a phony number, they really don't consume any disk space. The total space used and remaining reported in the properties for the drive is correct.
