Yes corrections, splits, name changes, etc. won't be included in a pure metastock database vs a virtual one. But you could easily rescan and populate the database with the newest and correct data. I only got the saturday IRL updates from the net. I never have been sure of the worth of industry grouping but certainly QP provides a number of ways to look at that.

I simply have all stocks in virtual format database with one metastock directory of 250 favorite stocks for quick MSWIN/WOW review. I repopulate the metastock dir, about once a week. I think Andy still loads only results of nightly scans. Whereby he only looks at stocks that meet his filters.

I agree that QP needs to track versions and put a list of changes made on their web site.
