Lets see if our management runs with the ball

A press release out of Orem features a good spin on the earnings with customer comments like "every indication [Intranetware] product is a winner", and "there is broad market acceptance of Intranetware". Lets see what the financial press says about forward looking Intranetware sales. Example would be if they report Novell sales meet market expectations and 4.11, a solid product, is gaining an role in corporate Intranet plans.

Marengi is quoted on CNBC as saying 70% of Intranetware sales are new customers. Okay we are getting new sales.

The job of the CEO in this period is to convince Novell's customers that Intranetware is a winner. Create buzz based on market acceptance of the product. Cite successful implimentations. Create corporate envy of the company next door implimenting Intranetware while they haven't. Marengi should be hyping the features of the next web server release. Marengi should be spinning, boasting, citing, and spiting.

Now is the time to remind the broader public that Intranetware exists, "X number of sales on on the market in only X days" and use some of that advertising money with an aggressive campaign featuring real Novell customers citing the winning aspects of the product and what it did for their companies.

This is THE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE QUARTER to market the product aggressively. Come on Marengi...step up to the plate....Do it. Tell us you have a plan and are not hiding under John Young's skirts. We'll even help you on this thread with motivational and inspirational prayers. Battle chants. Drum roles. 21 gun salutes.

Incidentally institutional investors own between 30-40% of this stock, with AMEX just under 5%. In 45 days I guess we find out how ownership has shifted, and whether any institutional investors will become more active in making demands for an aggressive CEO.
