Hmmm.. I suppose a Vapor! disc is not much good without the drive, no? It seems I am right about Vapor!'s price not making any profit for Iomega, because according to their web site, Vapor! may be had for "as little as $200." This strikes me that the base unit and drive itself may retail for $200. Then you have to buy the Flash Card reader in order for the damn thing to work with digital cameras. Then you have to buy more expensive rechargable batteries if you're out in the field for long.

This is a cheap solution?

There were indications previously that Iomega intended to deliver the internal model for about $100. They may do this, but not make a dime in profit. They will most likely score a loss on every drive sold. Most likely, the internal model will add more to the cost to the camera than what Iomaniacs think.

Bear in mind that my report of a $219 Sandisk 40MB card was merely a quick one-stop price check. I'm sure if I looked around more, I could find much better deals out there.
