Yep, agree about the replacement theory.

But be careful about the rapidity of the replacement theory. There are lots of entrenched industries protecting their turf. Kodak and Fuji are the biggest.

I think as mega pixel CCDs become more available, and they figure out a cheap way to do RGB megapixel CCDs (3 CCDs each focused only on 1 color), and picture quality increases to 8 megs per picture ...

clik! is the correct solution (but only 5 pictures!)

So, as you can forecast, IOM has to continue product innovation.

The basic reason why IOM trades so low, is that there is no clear migration path for IOM products.

With sales of Jaz/Jaz2 so low, and zip growth slowed (for now), IOM shareholders are stuck trying to PROTECT their franchise in an increasingly commoditized market (with Orb and HiFD entering market).

IOM needs to obtain some engineering talent focused on head/platter/armature expertise, and then low power drive design.

Either that or they need to merge with QNTM or SEG, and get rid of their clunky distribution system and refine their purchase system and increase their purchasing power and debt capacity.

Right now with low inflation, price sensitivity is very high.
