Here's another reason Wall St. (and MONT in particular) is out of touch:

The current "hot" issue in the gaming community is id's decision to focus exclusively on multi-player gaming (the "Quake Arena" strategy). In my opinion, the continued rise of multiplayer gaming is _very_ good news for the 3D accelerator market. Multiplayer gaming is what really forces people to upgrade their hardware to "the best." When your friends are spanking your butt and ragging you about it, you'll start thinking/saving/whining for hardware that is as good (or better) than what they have.

Bottom line, this new trend will blur the line between a "hard-core gamer" and all other "gamers" and the overall market will continue growing.

Wall st. is _totally_ out of touch with the role that gaming has in driving domestic PC sales today. To suggest that the market is saturated is comical IMNSHO.
