The company's president is on the front page of the Globe & Mail Report on Business today predicting lower earnings over the next couple quarters. Some of the reasons are already metnioned on this thread; the lack of rain in Sask this year is another reason. Some farmers are actually using the word drought and that will have a bad effect on SWP's bottom line this year. The fact that SWP lost money in the last quarter started this spiral, Larson's front page comment just pushed it along. Over the long term, this is till a great investment. There will be good years and bad years, but through them all, this is a solid company.

Because I have yet to buy any SWP, despite following the company for some time, I view this as a great opportunity to buy at a 33% redution -- and I likely will. Being a Saskatchewan resident, it gives me a chance to own a bit of home. For the same reason, I'd also recommend you look at another Sask company: Cameco. Its price has been hammered lately and is now, like SWP, in the bargain range.

GLTUA,
Marcman
