ratan, it doesn't change any of the macro problems. if i was txn i'd short the shares against the box to lock in some profits. otherwise they me be selling at $6, too ;-) losing x on y chips isn't improved by losing 2x on 2y chips. txn must have been desperate to pay mu $800 million for mu "toilet paper." this mass hysteria that has everyone believing this glut will be over in 3-6 months must still be in effect. this little hype may last for a little while. however, you gotta make money. actually i think mu wanted an avenue to get into 64 mb AND COULDN'T AFFORD IT WITH SLL THAT CASH THEY HAVE ;-) amat refused to accept stock in payment. TXN ACCEPTED. desperate people do desperate things. remember, ibm rejected bill gate's offer to buy most of msft in the 80s. assuming companies are smart is not always smart :-) now give us that lps so we can multiply it by 50% next q ;-)
