Muffy sat down on the curb and rested her pretty chin on her knees and her elbows on the macadam of the street itself. She was confused. What was going on? Who was that soldier? What, exactly, was happening in the unfolding story of her life right now? While she was waiting hopefully for some kind soul to happen by and clarify matters...

She noticed that in a nearby shrub lay a grey object, which, on closer examination, turned out to be a laptop computer. Muffy recognized it to be the selfsame laptop computer that...well, she needed more strawberries, she thought, because she couldn't remember much about the laptop computer. But what did it matter, what mattered is that it was there, and afforded her the opportunity to open it and try something she'd heard about just to see what happened. You can follow along and see the same odd thing that Muffy did:

1. Open Microsoft Word (version 6.0 or newer).

2. Type the following in the new document:

unable to follow directions

3. Highlight the sentence you just typed.

4. Under the "Tools" menu select "Thesaurus"
