Miscelleneous odds & ends nobody's mentioned yet:

- earnings report says -20% gross margin. more capacity would be worse, not better, if this is still true if/when they outfit the TI plant.

- the loss *includes* the $30M writedown, according to the earnings report. dunno what category it's in though.
operating losses of $172M is about -81c per share.

- S&P downgrades TXN debt because it's holding a lot of MU debt, because MU is a DRAM company and that business stinks. but they do *not* downgrade MU!?

-now TXN owns 12 per cent of MU. do the TXN accountants start to claim 12 percent of the 60 percent of MUEI that MU is always claiming? (what if MUEI bought a lot of TXN stock, would everybody have infinite earnings, like when you hold a mirror up to a mirror?)

I bought some throw-away June 25 calls at about 2:30 EST Thursday as insurance on a much larger July 20 put position. Price was 1/8 x 1/4, I put in my order at 1/4...and was filled immediately at 3/16! Is Big Money gonna give me a fast wad of cash on a big rise tomorrow? No way! A "great deal" of this kind on option play is generally the worst deal you'll ever get. I immediately bought more July 20 puts.
