Quiet day - here is some ** NEW INFORMATION ** to add to the discussion

I had a long talk Thursday afternoon with a new 'source' that I'm not going to reveal (another that's going to the grave with me). I'll just go over most of the main topics that we talked about.

Friday or Saturday I'll add an account of how SV-35 works. It's weird - very unlike the methyl chloride (MC) type strippers - and it will take new users by surprise - plus the method of application is different. What takes five drums of MC only takes two of SV-35. "SV-35 goes a long way compared to MC".

(1) Napier's sales are increasing month-over-month. This means that they're selling more with every month that passes;

(2) Napier's fundamentals are in "excellent shape". Contrary to former reports NIR is not technically in the black just yet - will be by July - when Napier will be "profitable";

(3) They can met demand even if it increases six fold. If it goes beyond that they can just increase capacity - which surprisingly isn't that expensive a thing to do - approximately $40k for a new production machine;

(4) Napier has three to four main competitors out there - but none comes close to the technology that Napier or Aquasol have developed;

(5) Napier was essentially an R&D company that's going through a transition now and is becoming more of a manufacturer of product - but R&D will continue to be strongly supported;

(6) The reduction of some Insiders stock balances over the last few months were for very valid reasons - and not related to the companies fundamentals or outlook. No I won't reveal their reasons - said I wouldn't;

(7) Web site - contract stipulates that it's to be ready by the end of June. The new web site will be a "significant improvement" over what went before;

(8) Hostile or market takeover - "very unlikely". However, my source said that they "would love to see it". More than 50% of NIR is held by less than 10 large long term holders and is "held very closely", "a lot of the people from the anti-stain days are still there" and they "remain very significant and loyal players".

Any takeover would require board approval.

To quote - '"if it's tried in the market they would have to get to $20 before they even got a quarter of the way there".

This is why no-one has come along in the last few weeks with $100-$200 million or even $500 million and just tried to scoop up Napier - despite the glowing reports strongly indicating where this technology is headed. It would require a market offer initially in the low billions to even begin to make any headway.

Conclusion: a takeover attempt in the market - it just isn't going to happen folks;

(9) Sergio has tested something like 2,500+ variants of the SV-35 product line. There isn't just one form of SV-35 that covers every application as `SV-35' represents a family of products. Those that are now on the market include:

SV-35A...Passed all specifications with respect to stripping surface coatings from aluminum surfaces.
SV-35C...Looks like it'll pass all specification requirements and is similar to SV-35E.
SV-35E...This is the one for the airline industry that passed Boeing's and McDonnell Douglas's tests. "It can be applied anywhere on the plane and is not corrosive to any parts at all". I have a really neat story about the testing trials on the aircraft - will include it in my `How SV-35 works' post.
SV-35M...Used in the marine market. Removes anti-fouling coatings from fiberglass - without effecting the `glass.

Another new SV-35 variant can now be used in dip tanks - I don't know if it's on the market yet.

However, with so many surface coatings out there - testing and continued product development will continue for the foreseeable future. There remain coatings that cannot be removed with the existing line of SV-35 variants - and this represents an ongoing challenge for Sergio and his team. How many surface coatings are there anyway - must be many thousands.

However, the technology is so new that it's going to take a while to have a comprehensive suite of SV-35 variants in the full product line. It's also likely that a catalogue will be required - and you'll just choose the particular SV-35 variant(s) to meet that specific task(s);

Another thing that was mentioned to me is that SV-35 works so differently to what has gone before in the last 100 years of the paint and paint stripping industry - that this will represent a `new user education challenge' for the marketing people. My prediction is that many folks will say "That's really neat how it works";

(10) SV-35 works very well stripping cars for restoration/repair;

(11) The relationship with ICI represents a "tremendous situation" and "discussions are going well";

(12) SV-35 in cans - "works great" - "no problem interacting with the propellant" - "work's very well when packaged that way";

(13) SV-35 will also be sold in solution form in containers. It can then be added to those reservoir's or small containers that you attach to the end of your hose - like putting detergent in a container - attaching the hose - and washing the car.

My source provided an example of 500 ml of Polystrip selling for around $9, SV-35 likely to be in the same ball park;

(14) News will be released as soon as possible. Napier and Aquasol are down to just a few points of discussion now - nothing major - but is taking a little longer to resolve than anticipated. Both sides want the best deal for their shareholders - "News isn't that far off";

(15) I may try to touch base with Sergio to get a more detailed account of how SV-35 works..

Just can't stop the research - tried to go cold turkey - but failed!!

Sleeping like a baby,

David in Ontario :-)
