The following I received from Datek. I've been with them since January 97. In this computer age wouldn't you think it would be very easy to enter a change? Once again, Thanks alot (not) Datek. "Dear Mr. B Unfortunately, we can not disable the check writing feature you enabled for your account. You do not have to use the checks once you receive them, but you will be charged the initial $9.99 for enabling your account for check writing. Please be careful when applying for online features, because some may not be reversible. If you have any further questions, please send email to fundsout@datek.com or call 1-888-GO-DATEK. After extensive in-house testing, we have decided to have a limited release of 1,000 customers to receive their checkbooks. We hope to release this first limited release to our printers within 2-3 business days. If within a two week period there are no reported problems with our procedures and system requirements, another 1,000 customers will be scheduled to receive checkbooks. There will be another two week period of observation and if the check writing feature meets requirements, the rest of the customers who have signed up for check writing will receive their checkbooks. Please be advised that the limited release will be done according to the order of when the accounts were enabled. We appreciate your patience while we implement this new feature and again, thank you for trading with Datek Online.
