Last night as I watched all the talking heads on TV telling the Japanese what they should do, I was reminded of how I felt when our county government declared bankruptcy (Orance County, Ca.) and politicians and newspeople all over the country knew what we must do - raise taxes on ourselves!

We voted that idea down, and things are back to normal. (Our sales tax is already 7 3/4% w/o the increase, up from 6% a few years ago).
At that time we were called names, like "rich deadbeats."

I know nothing of all the political intrigue that's going on, but I feel certain a huge backlash is coming against the U. S. One country just can't tell another what to do IMHO.
