>>William, not a bad shill for a lady<< Zeev & all - I wasn't commenting on Abby Cohen's record; it has been great. She has been the most accurate of the major commentators, we all know that. And I believe my previous post said as much. I was commenting more on the way Goldman trots her out every time the market looks weak; they of course have business, portfolios, and most importantly, partnership interests to protect. I feel that to come out a few days ago and basically say "don't worry, no big problems here , stay in stocks , they're fine" is not based so much on present risks and reality, as on the need to toe the party line, and rally the swaying sentiment of the small/medium investor. Perhaps shill is a bit strong, but it pretty much sums up her role in one word. Touter? Cheerleader? take your pick. |
