I know nothing of all the political intrigue that's going on, but I feel certain a huge backlash is coming against the U. S. One country just can't tell another what to do IMHO. Yes, we should have learned our lesson from the Godzilla movies--if Japan doesn't want help when under attack from giant monsters, why should it want help when being sucked into a financial black hole? All kidding aside, I think it largely boils down to the Oriental concept of saving face...the Japanese have no way of doing it in this situation, but still think there is. They'll figure it out soon.
