Hi Scott: It appears to me that Novell's top management (ie. Marengi & Young) are keeping the Investor's relations group in the blind as they proceed with their negotiations. This would make sence as Young would not want to spread speculation throughout the company until all documents are signed and final. It is possible that Young is also working with corporate legal as necessary so his back is covered.

Look for some friendly merger soon. If not Novell could indeed go it alone but it will be a much harder and longer road. A friendly merger is just the fuel Novell needs to exploit their INTRANET growth.

Stay focused on the facts. YOUNG seems to be using these recent "positive" events to establish a fair and equitable price for the shareholders.

P.S. Remeber Poker 101; Hold firm to your demand and ALWAYS have that Ace in the whole....This time it is not a bluff <G...Joe I see $21 rea l soon.>

Scott - Our Ace in the Whole is (1) $1 Billion in cash; all those equity investments and that new $450 million building to be built next year in San Jose. Now who would find those assets extremely worthwile...think...SUNW or Oracle (not HWP or IBM).
