Lee, I am just starting to look at this one. I have been in environmental field for 15 years and looked to microwave technology a long time ago (5-10 years). The positives were that it was very effective and you could target a zone in the ground some 18 inches thick at a great distance. The economics just weren't there though for petroleum recovery (field I am in) in refineries/terminals. If I remember correctly the technology was not economical largely due to energy requirements. I called my local landfill and asked the price to dispose of gypsum - $80.00/ton. I live in Loudoun Co. Virginia - I'm sure this figure can go much higher near say NYC. Can anyone point me in the direction of some material on cost effectiveness of applying this technology on a per ton cost? Thanks in advance. Eric
