Very interesting thought. Extrapolating further. . . Imagine if you were on the board of Iomega [not to mention being an interim CEO]. You sold all or most of your shares of IOM near the 52 week high, not sure whether IOM would pull out or not. But then Compaq deal happens and you begin to look at the company as a potential OEM supplier, instead of just a aftermarket goods wholesaler.

Then PCExpo happens. Suddenly you are deluged with OEM requests from major players as well as companies you've never even heard of. Suddenly deals for CLIK are everywhere too. The next 12 months could be the biggest in IOM history. Now you know that IOM can not only rise from the depths, but can top its highs.

Wait, we sold all our stock. Hold up releasing any REAL news from PCExpo. Instead, lets focus on news about not meeting expectations, violations of debt covenants and while we are at it, let's throw those layoffs in for good measure. That should drive the price down for a while.

And when it is at its lowest, we buy back all the shares we can. Then we release the REAL news of OEM deals with major players struck at PCExpo...slowly...one by one. We then project revenues for 98 and sit back and watch the fund managers scurry for shares.

Price goes up, we sell some more shares to raise some cash. And we are back in business. The first quarter that beats expectations and watch IOM fly.

Sort of reminds me of Perot being a democrat, and running a brilliant interference play.

Smoke and mirrors...which shell is the pea really under?
