Mark thank you very much for your advice on calling a financial advisor. I think there may be one of them in the hood as well. But no need, this whole angle was explained to me very well already. By an expert in the field. By the way, I do not view this as illegal, unethical, or immoral. But I don't think it will not get you canonized as a saint either. to me it is mostly done for the purpose of avoiding estate taxes. Weather Jimmy John did or did not do this, or why he did or not do it, will not change my opinion on the man quite frankly. What bothers me, is you trying to make him a saint in my eyes by giving me only half the facts.

"As far as the John's family trust, if you would like to know those
Details, I suggest you call them instead of ask me." Mark Silvers

I find it interesting that you would be willing to present to the world the details on the beneficiaries of these alleged trusts. Then, when you are questioned on more details, you, realizing you are getting into waters you regret, pull the "I suggest you call them instead of ask Me." angle. Classic MS (;-<)

P.S. The off shore concept I need to look into further.
