Lifted this information from the MF. Here's a guy that is really
doing his homework:
------------------------------------

two updates:

1. talked to tdfx rep Paul Wilson (reports to Dave Zacarias) at length. the summary follows.

2. i talked to the sec re: monty. they are particularly (and rightly) interested in the timing and content of the monty research reports. if it looks like stock manipulation, they'll initate an investigation. now, i know that this sort of thing almost never gets anywhere and if it does, it takes forever. but, the paper threat (literally) from the sec might help a little. if ANYONE can get the Monty Reports (the strong buy and then the hold), please fax to Phil Neri @ the SEC. Fax # 202 942 9634. indicate that you are following up on the tdfx/montgomery issue.

ok, back to the juicy part. i talked with paul wilson and had a list of questions. while most of it isn't groundbreaking, it was news to me. so here goes:

1. voodoo2 demand seen quite strong through 4q98. after that, there's no telling.

2. dimd demand growth for voodoo2 is indeed slowing, but increased demand from other customers has picked up the slack, and they expect no material difference in the bottom line (interpretive note: the diversification away from dimd and into other card makers is, to me, a very positive thing. less exposure to someone else's problems).

3. while they can't announce any OEMs until the partnering firm makes it completely official, they are VERY confident in the outlook for OEM deals for Banshee.

4. THE BANSHEE PRESS RELEASE ("sometime next week"...i wouldn't be too surprised if it's not on Monday due to the way things are going around there) will be both specific regarding the first generation, as well as an introduction to the whole family of banshee products to come. they WILL address AGP1 v. AGP2. (i am happy...)

5. branding efforts will indeed be stepped up later this year, and specifically directed towards potential buyers of the banshee lineup.

6. he's going to get back to me soon with feedback from mr. zacarias, et al, on increasing investment community awareness. he fully understood and agreed with the liquidity issue surrounding this stock (i.e., the volume usually is far too low to attract very many big-money players, who can get the similar return potential and far better liquidity profiles elsewhere).

7. "...the stock price is getting pretty sad."

thoughts?
