'Cigarettes could become a currency just like they are today in prisons. The stock price for many cigarette companies are currently depressed and represent an opportunity. Once the notion of stockpiling cartons of cigarettes for future bartering purposes becomes common knowledge, the non-smokers could create a large increase in sales. Tobacco futures could also rise sharply as manufacturers decide to stockpile.
