RE: iMac

The iMAC design (lack of built in floppy) favors LS-120 Superdisc, I'm afraid over Zip. No matter that Iomega die-hards think, the floppy is still necessary. That is, if one wants to install most premier software. Or, to install a driver for a new CD burner or printer. Those come on floppies too. The floppy is used as a key disc. Without it, no dice. A $10-$20 Zip disc makes no economic sense for such distribution. So iMac is more like a laptop than a desktop in terms of I/O devices.

I would be suprised if Iomega DIDN't announce a USB Zip soon. But to avoid desk clutter, one would favor getting an all-in-one drive like LS-120 or the upcoming Sony HiFi. Both can read and write floppies.
