Truly a merciful god. And if that isn't enough, he creates a hell, tempts us to break his arbitrary and capricious rules and then when we succumb (which we had to, because he made us that way) he punishes us with everlasting watchamacallit! And you believe all of this! So tell me, what mad man invented these fairy tales designed to frighten impressionable children and brain-addled adults. If a man treated his dog the way believers picture god treating his people the man would be imprisoned for torture and cruelty to animals. Yet the true believers revere this behavior and endow it with epithets such as all merciful etc. And then the "godly" tell us to avoid satan. According to biblical accounts when is the last time satan is reputed to have wiped out an entire nation? I find the tooth fairy a much more comforting and plausible deity.
