To All of EPEA,
Today I placed a phone call to Mrs.Betty Davis, [She runs the office and correspondence for EPEA and she is also the wife of Mr.Bob Davis-
CEO of EPEA], with the purpose of giving some more help in dealing with the senator's next week.
This week in the regular papers, the Wall Street Journal, and on
national TV, there has been a lot on the seriousness of the worsening
trade deficit.
I asked Mrs.Davis if she felt my thoughts would be of help in Mr. Davis in his dealing with the senator's, if she would please get them
to him, and after I told her about the reasoning, she told me that she
would tell Mr. Davis, as she felt they may be of help in this matter.
I have dealt with senators before, and this problem of "Start" in
knowing what moves them, does not hit home hard enough to get I feel strong enough action from them, but no matter what the party, this trade deficit is of growing concern and so I made the following statement to Mrs. Davis, of which she told me it "will" get to Mr.Davis.
The statement was the following: "The latest figures show very clearly that the US Trade Deficit is getting worse. It is in the best interest of the US that not more millions to billions of dollars keep
going out of this country for the launching of US Satellites to countries like China, when this country has the knowhow and hardware to launch those satellites and keep those millions to billions of dollars in our own country, and at the same time this is helping with our trade deficit problem".
