Sorry it's taken me a while to respond, Monty -- busy day. EMovAvg is affected by the number of days loaded for a scan. Here's what the help file says:

The DaysToLoad function determines how many days of data will load into its work area to use in performing calculations. This affects the value of certain functions-those where each day's value depends upon the previous value.

For example, the value of an exponential moving average (EMA) depends in part on the previous day's EMA. To calculate a 10-day EMA, you need a minimum of only 10 days of data; however you will get a different value if you load 500 days of data into the work area. In that case, will calculate the EMA for 490 of those days. The output from each day's calculation becomes part of the input for the next day's, and the resulting

10-day EMA reflects the cumulative effect of all the data. (See the topic Exponential Moving Averages for more on calculating EMAs.)

So you must include a DaystoLoad line in your EMA scans. Here's some advice from the trusty help file:

If you want your scans to reflect what is on the screen, use a DaysToLoad() value of 200 or more.

Example:

DaysToLoad=500;

if EMovAvg(0,30,cl)>40 then

println symbol;
endif;

So try adding a line like this to your scan:

DaysToLoad=500;
