Larry, Here's my fear, and please understand I don't believe this will happen in the next 12 months but maybe 18 or more months from now.
Sony and other predominately Japanese companies try an end round of the PC industry.
1. They offer Web T.V. for approximately $350.00. Then they perfect an interface to your printer.
2. They offer Video Telephones using the the VC100 chip invented by 8x8 a;nd others.
3. DVD replaces the VCR and hooks into your WEB T.V. device.
Now you have mass storage capabilities, printing fuctions and an incredibly huge monitor.
I know this seems like a stretch now, however, the tecnology appears thier, or very close. The potential to turn the computer industry upside down is profound. I feel alot of people would rather sit in thier lounge chair Surfing the net then their corner office.
My question, is Intel concerned about this development?
What should Intel do? I would like to see them push the Proshare technology into every computer, as quick as possible. If need be sell it at cost as an upgraded to every computer.
This will ensure the eyes of the buying public remain fixed on the PC. Regards, Michael

p.s. I'm probably just paranoid about my profits.
