Spurgeon I am somewhat familiar with but he deserves more of my time.
Have you ever heard of E.W. Bullinger? He wrote Companion Bible, Number in Scripture, Figures of Speech in the Bible, and quite a few other books. His interpretation method I have not been able to break and therefore I use it, basically that the Bible is self interpreting and the higher critics are from a lower place. He is Trinitarian BTW :=)

I have a copy of Revelations by old EW and it is different than anyone else's. He goes verse by verse. I can break everyone else's guess work on Revelations and since ol EW is so neglected and I cannot prove error or guesswork, I think he has a clue as to what it is about~! This was a hard to get and expensive book but the thing I like about EW is, like the Bible he espouses, there is no end to it. Other books I can finish and say OK I got that but with EW there is so much depth and cross reference and pithy deep stuff that I never even thought about that years later I am still trying to get it burned into my mind. I have no idea how this man did Bible translations and all these big deep books....how can you think of all this stuff in a lifetime much less write it~!
But I will be spending more time with Spurgeon and PP also. (We really do need an eternity don't we?)
