K.M. These companies are well aware of the technology
curve, TCO and obsolescence. I doub't if any follow a blanket
"266Mhz is all you need" policy. After all, the processor
is only a small part of the equation when it comes to purchasing
a PC. Gee, add 256MB memory, 2 9G HD's, a 21" monitor, DVD a TBU
and you can configure a >$3000 PC with a PII 266. What's the
basis of JP's point? Does he equate PC performance solely with
CPU speed? My debates with him have proven this to be the
case<gg>.

Most business needs are extremely diverse ranging from thin
clients to high-powered workstations to mobile computing to
back-room intra/inter/extranet servers. JP's, Techie's and
Bilow's arguments about massive shifts towards one size fits
all computing just don't add up in a competetive and productive environment. Guess what? These yahoos are far removed from
all the computing needs and purchasing decisions being made
every day by tens of thousands of companies around the world.
