You might all want to look at a thread here on SI which does regression analysis and looks at various factors (mainly earnings projections) to proclaim which stocks are overvalued or undervalued. techstocks.com

Pairgain was very overvalued according to this (albeit rather mechanical) study...and that is measured against the telecom group as a whole. In fact out of about 60 communications stocks studied, Pairgain was the MOST OVERVALUED!!! Ok, so the study may be too mechanical, but exactly what are you trying to flog here?

Based on a quick look at the chart...a slide from 65 to 40 does not seem unlikely. Of course any word of earnings upgrades could change that. But on the other hand expectations of imminent earnings upgrades may just have been factored into the market already.

FSCX was the most undervalued in the group.

I understand that these stocks are undervalued and overvalued with good reason. But I am willing to bet that in these EXTREME cases, the numbers don't lie and present good opportunities. I just might be looking into FSCX, priced at $9 but with a "fair value" of $37 according to the thread.

It's a very interesting, if mechanical, bit of research.
